We received an email in November 2005 from Mr. Isaac Izurieta, President
Federación Vasca de Juegos y Deportes Vascos/Euskadiko Herri Kirol Federazioa
advising us that they had decided several months before to give up representing Spain in TWIF and so give up being a TWIF member country.

Congratulations to the Scottish Association on a really well-run event yesterday at the UK Opens. The results are up under the Results tab now.
Carndonagh are holding an Open 5-a-side this Saturday 19th January in the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin, Contae Tír Conaill. Weights being contested are Senior 375kg, Senior 425kg, Novice C'Weight & Ladies C'Weight. Weight-in starts at 5.30pm, Pulling starts at 6pm. All Welcome.

I'm a bit late with this post...Congratulations to the members of St. Pats TOW Athletics Club who competed in their first Athletics event since St. Pats affiliated to the Athletics Association of Ireland. Hugh Óg Conway won the Senior Men's Javelin and took silver in the Shot Putt, Sorcha Conway took silver in the Junior Women's Javelin, Michael Muldoon came 3rd in the Junior Men's 1500m & 4th in the 3000m & Hugh Fitzpatrick won the Junior Men's Discus & Shot Putt. A good start to the Clubs' participation in Irish Athletics and no doubt we will have more success to report in the future. A great day was had by all at the inaugural Gortlettragh Open Competition held yesterday aided by the combination of good weather(for a change) and a good atmosphere. After the competition all present retired to The Garryowen, where before the medals were presented we got to enjoy the end of the All-Ireland football semi-final and the defeat of Dublin. The day was a success and a great training opportunity in the run up to the European's in Minehead. Fair play to Frank Egan & all in Gortlettragh Club for a well-organised event. Particular Congratulations to Gortlettragh who are a new club this year, started by the Egan brothers. The experience of some panel members showed through with their fine performance
yesterday winning a gold & a silver. Gortlettragh's panel yesterday was Frank, Chris, Peter, Simon & Ciarán Egan, Joseph McGloin, John Costello, Anthony McCaffrey, Joe Campbell, Joe, Brian & Gerry Early. Coached by Tracey Smith.
St. Pats finish with maximum points in today's Leinster Open Senior 600kg in Ballymore Eustace, Co. Cill Dara.
